Venturefest Oxford 2016
Sesui exhibits within Innovation Showcase
As one of just three Oxfordshire-based businesses to win the Queen’s Award for Innovation this year, Sesui was invited to exhibit within the Innovation Showcase of Venturefest Oxford 2016. The annual event celebrates successes in the region’s knowledge economy and provides a focal point for the local innovation eco-system that Sesui is proud to be part of.
Indeed, when establishing Sesui, the reputation of Oxford as a hub for technology, research and development was key to the company’s relocation to the Oxford Science Park in 2007. As such, our Head of Sales, Julian Sammells and Head of Marketing, Rachel Edwards, were keen to take the Venturefest organisers up on their offer and show support for the region’s new start-ups and entrepreneurs.
“The event was a great opportunity to showcase our contribution to Oxford’s burgeoning technology hub, and engulf ourselves in the original ideas and fresh-thinking of the newer members to our community,” said Julian. “Oxford and the surrounding area is positively heaving with inspiring and forward-thinking business minds, and it’s exciting for Sesui to be flying the flag for innovation in the area with our Queen’s Award win.”
By exhibiting at Venturefest 2016, Sesui was placed before the 800-plus delegates in attendance, with the opportunity to network with management from around 30 other local businesses with stands. The exhibition was complemented by an impressive line-up of guest speakers, including: Lisa Thomas, Global Head of Brand & Managing Director at Virgin Enterprises; Bianca Miller, runner-up of The Apprentice 2014; Mark Stevenson, entrepreneur, broadcaster and expert on global trends and innovation; and Will Kintish, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Successful Networkers.
