Sesui proud to support Jai Memorial Invitational Golf Tournament
Sesui was proud to sponsor and support the third Jai Memorial Invitational Golf Tournament held on the 8th August at the Aldenham Golf Club in Hertfordshire.
The Jai Memorial Invitational Golf Tournament is a charity event held in memory of Jai Vaghela. The charity was established by Jai’s family, who each year work
tirelessly along with the charity’s committee, to arrange every aspect of an amazing fundraising day.
Each year the proceeds of the invitational tournament go to very deserving charities, this year the charities chosen were St Luke’s Hospice in Kenton who were involved in the care of Jai and the CAREducation Trust. Sesui is delighted to have been able to support such a worthwhile cause in providing all the prizes and funding its team at the event.
This year’s event saw a great turnout, over 80 golfers played in four ball groups tackling the superb course in Hertfordshire in the blazing sunshine. With prizes up for grabs for both Ladies and Gentlemen 1st to 3rd places, and further awards for the longest drive, nearest the pin on every par 3 and Jai’s Challenge for nearest to the pin on the 3rd hole, the pressure was on and competition was high.
Sesui was well represented in the golf, with James Hookins (Service Manager), Nick Foskitt (Finance Director) and Lee Bryant (Managing Director) taking on the challenging but very scenic course. Our three somewhat sunburnt golfing colleagues, were then joined by other members of the Sesui team for the evening soiree. Close to 300 party goers enjoyed a superb evening of excellent food, great speeches, eagerly awaited trophy presentations and a nail-biting raffle, all topped off with music, dance and a fantastic party.
Amar Vaghela (Jai’s younger brother), gave the opening speech, “There is no other sport that can really personify Jai the way golf does. A game played with such class, dignity, focus and elegance, is something that sums up Jai. Class is what he oozed, dignity is what he did everything with…focus is all he had when it came to battling illness and art. He lived his life with elegance”
As for the winners, Sesui’s very own Nick Foskitt, Finance Director and golf extraordinaire, was announced as overall winner with a score of 40pts. After it emerged that Nick had also won in 2012, he has had to deny rumours that he is a golf pro, publicly stating that “I really am Sesui’s Finance Director!”.
This year’s event was the largest by far and raised an amazing £6,000 which will be donated to St Luke’s Hospice in Kenton, Harrow and the CAREducation Trust whose aim is to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged and naturally challenged children around the world, through education.
