NHS Data Security Assessments – what are they, why are they important?

We’re delighted that Sesui has recently passed its annual NHS Data Security Assessment with flying colours.  It’s an important point of reference to us and many of our clients, in ensuring we’re doing the right things to keep patients’ most sensitive data secure.

What is it?
The NHS Data Security Assessment  measures all NHS suppliers against the National Data Guardian’s 10 data security standards. All organisations that have access to NHS patient data and systems must use this  to provide assurance that they are practising good data security and that personal information is handled correctly.

Why does this matter to Sesui?

Unsurprisingly, security around third party applications development is becoming an increasing priority for NHS Digital, with many different providers offering services to the NHS which make use of or provide a means of accessing patient information.

We are glad to have met the Data Security and Protection Assessment, which, combined with our Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001 Certifications demonstrates our commitment to security best practice.  Sesui clients, as well as their patients and commercial customers,  can rest assured that their information is safe hands.
