Why risk it? Trust Sesui with your communications


According to Cloud Industry Forum research, 82% of public sector organisations have adopted cloud services, up from 38% in 2010*. It’s a move that makes good business sense for the public sector, as it’s a smart way to workaround legacy IT systems. But it does come with a health warning. Public sector organisations need to choose their partners carefully. Cloud computing relies on a network of remote, distributed, virtual servers connected on the Internet to store, manage, access and process data as well as run applications. Cloud providers do it all for you, rather than your organisation needing to run these services in-house. But it means you need to trust your valuable data to a third party and their virtual machines, so of course, there’s risk involved. And we need no reminder of what can happen when our public sector is left exposed.

Not even 18 months ago the WannaCry ransomware attack left the NHS vulnerable, affecting 80 out of 236 trusts, as well as a further 603 primary care and other NHS organisations. It resulted in 6,900 cancelled patient appointments. And all because infected organisations didn’t manage their firewalls. NHS Digital found that most of those affected had unsupported or unpatched Windows operating systems. It sounds so simple doesn’t it? But we’re talking about organisations under huge stress and time pressure. Some things are bound to fall to the wayside, right? Wrong. Risk is something we all face every day. But in the public sector especially, why leave yourself exposed?

As more and more public sector organisations move into the cloud our message is a simple one. Don’t take a chance on an unvetted provider. We are the UK Cloud Service Provider of the Year. Just this month we were awarded our Cyber Essentials certification – a government-backed scheme that helps organisations shore up their IT systems against cyber attacks. For three months, our team has been checking and double checking that our client-facing environment would pass extensive vulnerability testing by CREST – a leader in the field of Cyber Security. Cyber Essentials reassures our customers that we take cyber security seriously. It tells you that we have secure Internet connections, devices and software, that we have controlled access to our data, that we’re protected from viruses and other malware, and that our devices are kept up-to-date.

This certification comes hot on the heels of our successful G-Cloud application. The G-Cloud Framework was set up in 2013 to provide a digital marketplace to promote carefully vetted cloud providers within the public sector. It means public sector organisations can now purchase our software in a faster and more cost effective way, than entering into an individual procurement contract, with the added reassurance that we’re a company they can trust. And you should trust us. We’ve been doing this a long time.

Sesui named Best Cloud Service Provider


Oxford-based Sesui, creator of award-winning cloud communications software, was last night awarded Best Cloud Service Provider at the UK Cloud Awards.

The news follows a number of recent commendations for the business, including the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation in 2016 and Computing’s ‘Cloud Telephony Product of the Year’ in 2017 for Sesui Call Manager. And it builds further momentum for the business, ahead of next month’s Oxfordshire Business Awards, where Sesui’s shortlisted for the CIS Technology Excellence Award.

Sesui wins 2017 ‘Cloud Telephony Product of the Year’ Award!


Computing, the UK’s leading business technology publication, has unveiled its 2017 Cloud Excellence Awards winners and Sesui is delighted to announce it has been named ‘Cloud Telephony Product of the Year’!

Designed to showcase the biggest and best in the industry, the Awards demonstrate how cloud can enable organisations to respond rapidly to changing market conditions – and to experiment with new ideas, products and tools – while being an incredibly efficient way to set up new infrastructure and platforms. The Awards were newly introduced this year making us one of the first ever winners, and aim to raise the profile of innovators in the cloud industry – from the most compelling products and vendors through to top use cases from end-user firms.

Sesui wins ‘Best Cloud-Based Contact Centre – UK’


Corporate Vision, a leading monthly international publication in the corporate arena, has unveiled its 2017 Technology Innovator Awards winners and Sesui is delighted to announce it has been named ‘Best Cloud-Based Contact Centre UK’.

Now celebrating its third year, the Technology Innovator Awards is designed to showcase talented individuals, teams and firms that form the backbone of this dynamic industry. It aims to raise the profile of those whose innovative thinking and commitment to technology make the industry what it is today.

The win comes after Sesui was awarded two 2016 Technology Innovator Awards – the ‘CV Innovation Award’ for the Sesui i-App, and the award for ‘Most Pioneering Cloud-Based Contact Centre’.

Cloud Telephony Innovator, Sesui announced as a Finalist in the Oxfordshire Business Awards 2017


Cloud-based telephony innovator, Sesui Limited, is proud to announce it is a finalist in the Oxfordshire Business Awards 2017, following on from its success in the 2016 Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation. Sesui, presented 2016 Queen’s Award for Enterprise by HRH the Duke of Gloucester


17 November, 2016: Sesui, the cloud-based telephony and contact centre innovator, has been presented the 2016 Queen’s Award for Enterprise by HRH The Duke of Gloucester at a ceremony held at the Oxford Science Park on Tuesday 15 November.

Employees and customers of Sesui were joined by dignitaries to celebrate strides made by the business in cloud telephony innovation, and to see Lee Bryant, Managing Director of Sesui, accept the official grant of appointment and commemorative glass bowl. The event follows the Royal Reception for winners, which was hosted at Buckingham Palace by Her Majesty The Queen in July.

The Queen’s Award Reception 2016

palaceWhat could possibly top the pride of winning a prestigious Queen’s Award for Innovation? Well, meeting Her Majesty the Queen at the reception in Buckingham Palace could certainly contend; and remarkably, that’s exactly how Riki Samuels, Sesui’s Chairman and Founder, and I spent our evening on July 14th.

For one day only, we and 500 other excited guests were greeted with champagne and canapés in Buckingham Palace’s striking state rooms. Impressive garden views and beautiful hallways set the scene whilst we mingled with other Award winners and eagerly discussed enterprise.

Making memories with the Queen’s Award


A note from Sesui’s Chairman

riki-sesui-shot-v2My career as a company Chairman has afforded me a number of fond memories; one such moment that has stuck with me for many years was during another life in 1985, when I was a part of the sportswear world. I remember visiting a company on business in order to speak with the MD and, as I was waiting to be seen, becoming quite star struck by a picture of the very man I was about to meet shaking hands with the Queen! Who exactly was this man, I remember wondering. As it turned out, the picture was of him collecting a Queen’s Award.
